What is CrossFit Foundations?
Interested in beginning your CrossFit journey for a fitter and healthier lifestyle? Sweet, you’ve come to right place, and we’re here to help. We have CrossFit Foundations classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (See WOD Class Schedule for times). The classes will be an hour long, and you will be taught the basic fundamentals of all the movements we do in CrossFit from weightlifting and gymnastic foundational strength, as well as improving your cardiovascular endurance.
Our goal for these classes will be to provide you with the tools to perform all the movements safely so that you are confident enough and ready to jump into our regular classes! Our experienced coaches are here to help you at any pace you need to make that jump.
Who can take our CrossFit Foundations class?
ANYONE! All of the movements we do in CrossFit are infinitely scalable to your fitness level, no matter where that is. We will start you off with lots of practice with an empty or light barbell to make sure that you are performing the movements correctly and safely. When we feel confident in your ability to perform the movement, we can start adding a little more weight. Our goal for our gymnastic movements is to help you build strength from core to extremity with progressions that will lead toward the actual movement.
What will a CrossFit Foundations class look like?
We will start each class with a general warm up, specific to the workout of the day. The warm up will take anywhere from 10-15 minutes, focusing on improving your mobility through full range-of-motion, as well as muscle group activation to get your muscles prepped for optimal contraction. After the warm up, our coaches will take you through a skill or strength movement programmed for the day, ensuring proper positioning for safe execution. You will end up making friends with the people in the class to help support and motivate you, as well as our experienced coaches there to help each of you out. So if you any questions, please ask!
What should I bring to CrossFit Foundations?
Loose workout clothes for you to move freely in, covered shoes, as well as some water! There are water fountains, but it’s nice to have one close by! Other than that, come in to each class with a good attitude and motivation to work hard and learn from your coaches. We hope to see you there!
